2000 Caterham Classic
This ex Classic Graduate race car has arrived at PT after several seasons racing in the hands of Mark Carter. Mark documented his adventures with Tigger comprehensively and has written a few words below as a goodbye to the car.
This car won the majority of the races in the Classic Graduate class in 2020 and would have won the Championship had there been one. The car has now been made more user friendly with the removal of the cage and a recent refresh after the last race at Silverstone.
The full spec includes:
– 1600 VX engine (105bhp)
– Ford Type 9 5 speed gearbox
– Ital live axle
– Standard roll over hoop
– Tillett seat with Schroth harnesses
– Minilite alloys with nearly new Yokohama A539 tyres
The car has had a recent back panel which was wrapped orange to match the paintwork. There are various scuffs and marks as you would expect with a 20 year old race car. This car was prepared by PT before every race meeting in 2020 and all work advised was undertaken.

A word from the previous owner:
I bought my Caterham 7 at the end of 2012 from a female racer, who had very sensibly named it Tigger; what else would you call an orange and black Caterham? I raced Tigger for 8 years, taking 3 class wins in our last race meeting together, and it’s only for sale now to fund a season of single-seater racing. In the last couple of years, the engine, gearbox, differential, and drive shafts have all been replaced, and the car is in excellent working order, having been maintained by PT Sports Cars. It’s also a lot of fun to drive!
